Debate brought together various strategic actors to boost investment in the region

Focusing on sustainable rural development and promoting concrete solutions for the Amazonian bioeconomy, the Third Regional Technical Dialogue on the Amazonian Bioeconomy and Inclusive Rural Transformation brought together representatives from eight Amazonian countries, indigenous leaders, international organizations and strategic financial institutions in Manaus, Amazonas, from September 2 to 4, 2025. Fundo Vale played a prominent role at the event, reaffirming its commitment to sustainable development in the Amazon by actively participating in discussions on the bioeconomy and inclusive rural transformation in a panel called “Cross-Sector Alliances to Promote the Amazonian Socio-Bioeconomy.”

“We believe that it is through collaboration between government bodies, the private sector, local communities and civil society that we will be able to build sustainable, long-term solutions for the region,” said Liz Lacerda from Fundo Vale’s Amazon and Partnerships Area.

As part of Amazon Week, the meeting – organized by the Brazilian government and the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization – provided an overview of how to balance agricultural production, food security and land preservation.

The event was also attended by Banco do Brasil, the World Resources Institute, ZTE, INCA Terra, the leaders of indigenous peoples and traditional communities, and government representatives from Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Guyana, Suriname and Venezuela. Based on the Amazon Regional Food Security Strategy, approved by the Bogotá Declaration, and the Amazon Hand-in-Hand Initiative, concrete bioeconomy success stories in each country were identified, emphasizing the role of institutions such as Fundo Vale in building integrated solutions for the region.
