We are a non-profit civil society organization of public interest (OSCIP, acronym in Portuguese), controlled by Vale, our sponsor. Currently, our governance structure is formed by the Board Council, Fiscal Council and Executive Board. The Board Council has decision-making power, and the Fiscal Council monitors and approves the financial execution. The Executive Board operationalizes the strategies.

We have started the revision of our Bylaws and governance structure to meet the new institutional challenges and reinforce the impact investment strategies. This work is underway and should be completed by 2022.

We also carry out the standard of governance processes, contracts, project PMOs, partnerships, among others. In 2021, we reviewed and created communication processes, impact measurement and financial instruments.

All this work aimed to ensure the management standard in accordance with the best market practices and our sponsor.

As an institution controlled by Vale, we adopt the policies established by our sponsor, in order to ensure that we act in line with the company’s compliance and organizational guidelines in the areas of sustainability, human rights, anti-corruption, diversity and inclusion, among others.

External Financial Audits

Every year, Fundo Vale undergoes an external financial audit in order to verify the appropriateness of the use and management of its resources, always carried out by a firm that specializes in the sector.
