With this special pre-COP 30 edition, we are launching a new format for the Fundo Vale newsletter. This change reflects our purpose to further amplify the voices that are building the social and environmental impact ecosystem, making this communication channel more dynamic and richer in ideas, experiences and data to drive the transition to a more just, inclusive and sustainable economy. The new model recognizes the power of collective action as the true engine of transformation.
As COP 30 draws near, we are increasingly convinced that dialogue and collaboration are fundamental to generating real impact. Fundo Vale understands that this conference is a crucial forum for presenting concrete actions already underway to promote nature-based solutions, as well as bioeconomy and climate-related initiatives, connecting science, communities, entrepreneurs and investors in strategic spaces. We want to strengthen connections and inspire action.
Here at Fundo Vale, we are working to make COP30 in the Amazon a milestone conference and a true turning point for the global climate agenda, reflecting the same strength and vitality of our forest. It will be a historic moment for learning, co-creation and hope.
Best regards,
Patrícia Daros Director, Fundo Vale |

1. The Amazon Journey, an initiative led by the CERTI Foundation and supported by Fundo Vale, has reached the end of its first cycle, which comprised three phases between 2023 and 2025. The program connects entrepreneurs, local communities, researchers and investors in the creation of solutions that strengthen the Amazonian bioeconomy and value the standing forest, generating a positive impact. What results have stood out?
|
We have reached some major milestones in developing the Amazon bioeconomy innovation ecosystem through the Amazon Journey platform. We have trained more than 3,000 talented individuals through the Genesis Program and generated 186 new innovative businesses through SinapseBio. In addition, we have strengthened over 100 existing businesses through Sinergia and Sinergia Investimentos. These results demonstrate the structuring of a high-quality bioeconomy pipeline, generating value for Amazonian production chains and prosperity, aligned with the standing forest.

2. The CERTI Foundation has been collaborating technically with the Pará State Environment and Sustainability Secretariat in structuring the Amazon Bioeconomy and Innovation Park, recently launched in Belém, Pará. During COP30, there will be a special event about the Amazon Journey platform. What can we expect?
|
On November 15, we will hold an event called “The Amazon Journey and Promoting the Innovation Ecosystem in the Bioeconomy,” from 2 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., as part of the park’s official schedule of activities during COP30. We will bring together partners, executives, investors and leaders to discuss advances in the bioeconomy, business promotion strategies and success stories. The activities will include technical panels, partnership presentations and a networking cocktail party. We believe it will be a milestone in the launch of the park as a new hub of innovation and a global reference for the Amazon’s sustainable economy.

3. Fundo Vale has been an Amazon Journey partner for around five years. What has been the most memorable aspect of this joint journey?
|
Our partnership is the result of a very organic process that has developed over time. What began 10 years ago as occasional contacts has evolved into a relationship based on trust and complementary goals. The Fundo Vale team listens, discusses, tests and co-constructs together with the impact ecosystem. This vocation for dialogue and experimentation is fundamental. Our relationship has been about strengthening an innovative vision of the future. I believe that based on the results we have achieved through the Amazon Journey, we are on the right track.

Webinar: What is the TFFF and why is it important for Indigenous peoples and local communities?
|
Today’s recommendation is a webinar held by the Institute for Climate and Society (iCS), which discussed the role of the Tropical Forests Forever Facility (TFFF) in empowering and strengthening Indigenous peoples and local communities. This initiative, led by Brazil and partners from the Global South, proposes an innovative climate finance model that rewards countries that keep their forests standing.
The TFFF will be launched by the Brazilian government during COP30 in Belém. It is expected to mobilize up to US$125 billion and will allocate at least 20% of these resources directly to communities that live in and protect tropical forests. |

|
The Agroforestry Dialogue Project – an initiative that brings together over 40 organizations to promote reflection and propose ways to strengthen productive restoration and the regenerative economy in Brazil – has produced two new materials. These resources were developed by the Belterra Institute with support from Fundo Vale and the Institute for Climate and Society (iCS).
