On April 23, Fundo Vale attended an event to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Natura Eco Park, a technology center focused on the bioeconomy, located in Benevides, Pará. Dedicated to researching assets and promoting businesses with social and environmental impacts in the Amazon, the Eco Park is a 172-hectare industrial complex where companies aligned with the same ethical and sustainable principles as cosmetics group Natura can establish themselves and collaborate in a symbiotic and productive relationship.

During the event, João Paulo Ferreira, Natura’s CEO, announced the construction of a new research and development center at the site. “This event reaffirms our commitment to the future. We are going to transform the Eco Park into a global hub for innovation and management of sustainable social and biological diversity chains,” he said.

Bia Marchiori, head of the technical, knowledge and social and environmental safeguards aspects of Vale’s 2030 Forest Goal, was present at the event, which was attended by representatives of various public and private sector institutions, as well as Natura employees.

“Natura occupies a very important place in the Amazon, due to its social and environmental development actions and its positive impact agenda. We at Fundo Vale seek to evaluate synergies with the actions of this kind of institution in order to leverage our commitments, as well as to learn from and share experiences with those who are also working with forest conservation and the bioeconomy,” said Marchiori.
