Fundo Vale’s team was invited to contribute an article to the 23rd edition of Latin American Business Environment, a report by the Center for Latin American Studies at the University of Florida.
The article shows how Fundo Vale has developed and is implementing strategies focused on social and environmental impacts to achieve Vale’s 2030 Forest Goal. It also emphasizes support for the development of businesses related to forests and climate, in line with Vale’s commitment to protect and restore 500,000 hectares of habitat by 2030.
The report presents a collection of experiences and perspectives about the role of communities in sustainable development, opportunities and safeguards required for private companies to collaborate with communities, as well as the importance of having an environmental, social and governance (ESG) mindset.
All the other cases presented involve major partnerships between community producers and private companies and reflect the strengths of the Latin American Center for Business, Conservation and Tropical Development and Development Practices.
The report’s target audience is Latin American and North American entrepreneurs and investors who already invest or may do business in the region. The publication urges them to contribute to the construction of an inclusive and ecologically sustainable future in Latin America and a green and equitable post-COVID recovery in the region.
