Amazon at Home, Intact Forest – a project that is thinking up solutions to support sustainable production chains and impact enterprises in the Amazon, and that promotes market access for the region’s social and biological diversity products – ran a booth at Natural Tech, Latin America’s largest trade show for natural products, probiotics, integral products, plant therapies and complementary treatments.

The 100-square-meter stand showcased 32 brands supported by the project, which is carried out by the Amazon Conservation and Sustainable Development Institute (Idesam), Amazon Impact Accelerator (AMAZ) and Climate Ventures, and supported by Fundo Vale. The aim of this project is to stimulate entrepreneurship in the Amazon and help local businesses enter new e-commerce marketplaces.

The initiative arose from a search for logistical solutions to materialize sales effort and tread new paths for the sustainable development of the Amazon, valuing the forest’s assets and the knowledge of its traditional peoples while conserving its biodiversity.

The companies showcased at Natural Tech included Luisa Abram Chocolates, which makes chocolate using wild cocoa from the Amazon, collected by riverside communities; Café Apuí, the first sustainable coffee producer in the Brazilian Amazon; Deveras Amazônia, which makes jam from Victoria amazonica plants; and 100% Amazônia, a company that produces bioingredients from the Amazon Rainforest.
